May 22, 2013
I found an anesthesiologist. Tons of balls. No brains. The surgery is done and now I'm waiting to find out if the nerve damage he and the dumbass ortho caused is permanent. Anyhooo, you can read all about it on my other blog if you like. The writing part of my life is considerable less bumpy. Burning Now- the shifter story will come out at Torquere Press later this year. They're also re-releasing my 2 m/f Divison P pieces- Don't Fret the Timing, and Falling From a Height. Woo hoo!
This week I'm working on SIS Case Files Book 4. John, Evan and Gabrielle have been quietly living on my hard drive for months now waiting for me to get back to them. That book is at 32K currently, so I have somewhere around 25K left to go. I have hopes (maybe, possibly) of finishing it by th end of the summer. LOL, we'll see if that actually happens.
Apr 5, 2013
I have a release date for Braided Lives 2 - Splicing..... April 24th! Close to Home is now available on Kindle with a brand new cover. I'm very nearly finished a shifter piece called Burning Now and hope to sub it in about a week. And I'm working a spy/military intelligence piece that I'm a bit more than half way done.
And the shoulder is still busted..... At the moment I'm in limbo waiting for an anesthesiologist with brains and balls, apparently a nigh impossible combination.
Jan 21, 2013
The shoulder thing is on indefinite hold while I search for a surgeon with more than 1 brain cell, so I'm soldiering onward as best I can. "Not an Elf" is supposed to get released sometime in February (I'm assuming toward the end of the month) over at MLR. "BraidedLives 2" is tenatively slated for April. Everything else is sloggin onward at a snail's pace. Sigh.
December 22, 2012
Ah, we're approaching the end of the year. Things have been far rougher this year than I had anticipated. Shoulder surgery is in my future (as is probably a lot of very slow one-handed typing). On up notes, I just signed a contract with MLR for a short piece called "Not an Elf". It should be out sometime this spring. Braided Lives is finished but I'm dragging my tush on getting it out the door to the publisher. (Too many holiday responsibilities as well as too many darn doctor appts.)
I have a whole slew of WIP's that are getting hacked away at with speed of the average snail. Fingers crossed things will go smoother for 2013. (And hey the world didn't end - Yo Mayans, you got it wrong.)
November 18, 2012
Progress has been made! Braided Lives 2-Splicing is in the editting phase and will get submitted in a few weeks. I have another short piece that's been shipped off to a new publisher (well, new for me- always trying to expand my readership) and I'm 2/3 of the way thru a shifter piece that may end up being roughly 20K or so.
September 28, 2012
It's been more than a month since I've managed to update this blog. What can I say but sorry. The injury from the car accident has turned out to be much worse than the doofus drs orginally thought. Torn rotator cuff from where I slammed in the steering wheel. Anyhooo, if you want read about all the insanely stupid details and ongoing mess, cruise by my other blog. The link is in the author page part of this site.
I have about 4-5 scenes left to write on Braided Lives 2. I'm hoping, fingers crossed to get it done soon.
August 18, 2012
Slowly but surely. Head**desk. The writing thing hasn't been going very smoothly. In part I blame the car accident. (Hey, any excuse...) There have been never ending medical appointments. Grrrrrrr. Braided Lives 2 is up to 45 K and maybe, just maybe there's an end in sight. I think I had this illusion that that book was going to flow smoothly. Hah! I should know by now that anything destined to be over 50K takes me 10 or more months to write.
On a different front, I've been discussing a new Brian and Tristan series with Torquere Press, and yes I plan to stick to the episodic format. Fingers crossed, the new series will start with Halloween again.
July 8, 2012
My life is being consumed by swim team at the moment. Ack. I've been unbelievably slack about updating this website. Sigh.
Zero to 165 should be coming out on the 18th of July. I'll probably be running a contest for a free copy, so keep an eye out. Vulnerability- the last episode of Inches of Trust is slated for a July 25th release (I think). Braided Lives 2 has made it up to 36K and there might possibly be an end in sight. And the Wales/fairy/urban fantasy thingy has reached about 7K. It's m/f and the "overplot" is being difficult.
June 10, 2012
Life is just not slowing down and I'm being chronically disorganized at the moment. Zero to 165 will be coming out over at Torquere sometime about mid July. That's the 3rd in the Cam and Mason saga. (Yes there will be more....eventually) I have edits to do in the 10th (final) episode of Inches of Trust. (They're not going away either. I'm just done with a certain phase of their lives.) That Braided Lives sequel has slowly crawled it's way up 26 K. And then I got mugged by a plot bunny... Wales/ fairy/secrecy/mayhem....We'll see where that goes.
May 21, 2012
I finished the short story for the LiAW project and if you swing by the goodreads m/m group, you can find the story posted there. (I'll get around to putting the link here soon) I've been kind of swamped by "real life" lately, and just got back from a 2 week stint in England. Hopefully I'll get some writing done this summer.
Mar 28, 2012
I have the rough nearly finished for that LiAW project. Just one or two tweaks left to finish it off. Everything else is progressing very slowly. Real life is interfering quite a bit lately. That Braided Lives sequel is only a bit over 16K now. Grrrr.
My re-release of Seeking the Balance is out over at Torquere and as soon as I figure out how to resize some cover art, I'll see if I can post the covers over on the books page. in the mean time, swing by all romance e-books and pick up my free short- A Note of Stress.
Mar 12, 2012
That sequel to Braided Lives is up to 15K words now and still definitely not finished. I also volunteered for a writing project over on the Goodreads m/m group called LiAW. Forgive me I've totally spaced on what those letters actually stand for. But anyway, I picked a photo and somebody's prompt and I'm writing a short story to match. The deadline is April 15. Yipe! Anybody know a real SWAT guy I can talk to for procedural info?
Mar 5, 2012
I finally have some news to put here. I've subbed the 3rd Cam and Mason story, titled Zero to 165. I finished the last installment in the Inches of Trust series, but I'm still racking my brain for a title. I have 2 separate "appearances" scheduled for this year. Con-Txt is a slash convention that occurs in June. And I'm going to bite the bullet and fly to Albuquerque in Oct for GayRomLit Con.
Feb 3, 2012
I have some tentative release dates now. March 21 for the re-release of Seeking the Balance. April 11 for How We Operate. Nothing else is done yet. Sigh.
January 22, 2012
New year, new stories and all that. I don't have a release date yet for "How We Operate", but it should be coming out from Torquere sometime in the late spring or early summer. I'm waiting on edits from "my" editor on Zero to 165- the third story featuring Cam and Mason. Seeking the Balance is going to be getting a re-release as single title this year too.
I have a batch of stuff in progress .too There's about 7K done so far on a sequel to Braided Lives, and it's rather uncertain how long that piece is likely to be when it's done. I have a finished short story called A Note of Stress that I may release as a free read over on Allromanceebooks. There a new m/m in progress for the Division P universe as well as the beginnings of a f/f/m/m quad thing that is slowly driving me crazy because 4 separate personalities is just an absolute bear to juggle. The 4th book of the SIS Case Files series is also lingering in the background. I'm vaguely stuck on a plot point currently.
So I guess that's all the news that fit in print. I'll be back with updates in another week or so.
January 20, 2012
And the winner of a copy of Drowning in You is Midia!
January 12, 2012
Drowning in You is now out over at Cobblestone. Leave me some email at the author addy on this site and I'll be giving away a free copy on January 20th.
December 21, 2011
And I picked 2 winners! Congratulations to Mary and Linda.
December 13, 2011
See my spiffy new cover for "Drowning in You"? I don't have a release date yet, but it'll be sometime in 2012. On the other hand "Mandatory Fun" is due out tomorrow. (Doing the happy dance) I'll be giving away a free copy. Leave me some email at the author addy on this site and I'll pull a name for a give away on Dec 21.
Oh, and I finished the rough draft for the 3rd Cam and Mason story - "Zero to 165".
November 15, 2011
Excellent news! I have 3 separate pieces "in the chute" so to speak. "Mandatory Fun" - which a Christmas party short story about the SIS crew will come out sometime in December. "Drowning in You" a tale of 2 DEA agents has a cover. So hopefully I'll be getting that loaded here soon to the website for your viewing pleasure. "How We Operate" which started out life as a short piece for charity blossomed into a decent length novella and will also be coming out sometime next year. And it's still November and I'm still losing my mind over word count.
November 9, 2011
I'm now deep in the realm of insanity known as NaNoWriMo, or how to lose your mind by writing 50K words in 30 days. Book 4 of the SIS Case Files Series is underway and I've gotten about 9K words done so far. I'm also hacking at what might be the final installment of Inches of Trust. A few other projects are itching at the inside of my head and I may devote some time to those too.
October 20, 2011
And Jennifer Tran is the winner :-)
Oct 12, 2011
Contest! Send me some email via the email addy at the bottom of the page and I will give away a copy of Like an Untimely Frost on Oct 20th.
Oct 9, 2011
I ought to be typing a chemistry test, but well, I'm procrasting. Can you tell? ;-) I finished the rough on part one of the Stephen Benford piece. I even have a tentative title = Plate Tectonics. I have a novella in the editting fluffing stage and a short titled "A Note of Stress" basically done and soon to be shipped off to be bled upon. Lots of other things are still dangling in the unfinished state. I'm thinking than the infamous NanoWriMo 50K is liable to be made up of me trying to finish up a whole lot of things.
Oct 1, 2011
Seeking the Balance originally came out as a 3 part Chaser set. I just got notice recently that like Hell Dogs Squadron it's going to undergo a re-release as a single title. No word yet on when however. Maybe this is my clue that I need to hurry up and finish the 3rd book that features Cam and Mason....
Sept 26, 2011
The story with Stephen Benford has apparently eaten my brain over the past week or so. I'm up about 8K and have the rough plot for both Part 1 and part 2. If I get part 1 finished in the next month or so, I might upload it for your reading pleasure in December.
Sept 21, 2011
I'm toying with a new idea. Dr. Stephen Benford, the Division P staff psychologist, has been seen as a background supporting character in several books. Lately I've been hacking away at a story that features him. Due the slow developing relationship between him and a west coast member of Division P, I am thinking of posting the story as a serial in the free reads section, and updating it every 30-60 days. It's a m/f story, but set firmly in the Division P universe. Drop me a line via the contact email with opinions.
Sept 19, 2011
Falling From a Height is now available on Kindle. Take a look at the books page to see its brand new cover.
Sept 13, 2011
I finished a Xmas short story featuring the SIS trio - John, Evan and Gabrielle and will be submitting for publication toward the end of this week. The title is "Mandatory Fun."
Sept 6, 2011
And the winner is ---Sherry. You will be contacted for email delivery.
Sept 3, 2011
I'm holding a Labor Day weekend contest. You could win a free copy of my re-release of Hell Dogs Squadron. Click on the author email addy on this site and leave me a message with the title of any other Division P book and I'll be giving away the free copy Tuesday Sept 6
August 24, 2011
Hell Dogs Squadron just got a re-release as a single title over at Torquerebooks.com
Swing by and have a look at my cool new cover.
August 21, 2011
If you'd like to come play with me, I'll be hosting the Torquere Press Live Journal site on the 27th of this month. You could win a free copy of "Pulling the Pin."
I've got 3 scenes left to write to the next "Cam & Mason" novella. The title is tentatively "Zero to 165."
August 6, 2011
Don't Fret the Timing is now for sale on Nook and Kindle. "Pulling the Pin" is releasing at the end of August. I got a cover art for "Like an Untimely Frost." Squeel! Love it. I'll get around to posting a pic of the cover in a couple of days (I hope).
July 29, 2011
I just sent off the next episode of the Inches of Trust series. This one's called "Pulling the Pin." I'm still juggling lots of nearly finished stories and a couple of new plot bunnies. If I can pull it off, I'll have a little short piece about the SIS crew at a Christmas party ready for subbing out when the dealine rolls around. (Plot problems lurk on that one right at the moment.)
July 14, 2011
A re-release of one of my previous stories is in the works. "Don't Fret the Timing" is one of the m/f pieces. It is part of the Division P web of stories. I hesitate to call "P" a series, because there is overlapping and intermingling of character sets. I'll be posting a buy link on August 1st, when the new version becomes available.
July 2, 2011
Just Breathe is "live." Follow my link on the books page to have a look and buy a copy.
June 22, 2011
The story with the grenade is very nearly finished. I'm currently agonizing over the last page. The title may end up being "Pulling the Pin" and it would be the latest installment of the Inches of Trust series. And nope I'm not done yet. The next one is already in progress. "Just Breathe" will be coming out over at Shadowfire Press sometime next month. I'll post a link on the book page when it goes live.
June 16, 2011
I filled out the form for cover art on "Like an Untimely Frost. It may be a month or two before I see the results. I think the projected release date is in mid-October. Writing-wise I'm still plowing through the amnesia story, and I've got around 15K words. I'm uncertain what the ending length will be, but I suspect somewhere in the 20K region. I had a re-read of my draft on the next "Inches of Trust" story and may jump over in that direction later this week. This one features--- a grenade.
June 7, 2011
Hell Dogs Squadron, which orginally came out as a 3 part "Chaser" set, is going to be re-released as a single title. I'll even get a cover this time around. Way cool. I'm back to working on "amnesia" guy this week after having to rip out and reset an large chunk.
June 2, 2011
I'm deep in the middle of a short story that has become a novel. "My Life in Your Hands" was released last September, and featured the relationship between a trauma surgeon and a San Diego cop who works for the gang task force. Those 2 guys wouldn't leave me alone, and I'm up to about 38K words with them at this point.
May 19, 2011
Just signed the contract for "Like An Untimely Frost. I'm uncertain when it's scheduled to come out.
May 5, 2011
"Like an Untimely Frost" has been submitted. Now I wait on the usual pins and needles for an offer. The plot has me by the throat and is only coming out in fitful evil bits and pieces. Who knew a trope-y sort of plot could be so difficult to pull off. I have one word for you - amnesia. And no, the guy doesn't magically get bashed on the head a 2nd time to restore his memory.
April 25, 2011
Bouncing happily! I finished the rough draft on "Like an Untimely Frost". Just under 52K words of SIS menage. Now it's off to my editor to open a vein on. I have a vague plot bunny brewing in my head for something new. It might be another Division P related piece.
April 13, 2011
Close to Home is out over at Phaze. I'm still slogging through the end of the rough draft phase with the 3rd of the SIS Case Files book.
April 2, 2011
The edits for Braided Lives are in progress. I'm rolling some ideas around for a sequel. My Division P characters never quite seem to be willing ot leave me alone.
March 23, 2011
I'm approaching the end of a new novella starring Cam & Mason from Hell Dogs Squadron and Seeking the Balance. It's proably going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 33K words. I only have a few scenes left to do.
March 17, 2011
Hello to all. I'm still thrashing through the set up stages of trying to put this website together so bear with me. Programming-ish stuff is soooo not my forte. I have a new story coming out with Phaze Books next week. It's a contemporary menage called "Close to Home". I'll have a go at getting it put on the books page after its release.
